Celebrating Florida’s Greenways and Trails Month
Saturday, October11, 2014 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
In Partnership with Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation
Come out for a FREE guided trail experience
Hike * Bike * Paddle * Horseback Ride
Bicycles, canoes and kayaks are available at Canoe Outfitters at the front entrance to Riverbend
Park. Equestrians must provide their own horses.
Check In: 9:00 am
Front Chickee Hut: Hikers, Bicyclists and Paddlers who rent
Kayak Launch Parking: Paddlers who bring their own boat or board
Chickee at Trailer Parking: Equestrians
Please – we need all participants to check in. This event includes horses and our organization needs
everyone to sign a form. Thank you!
Hikers: We plan on at least TWO groups for the event – one shorter and slower, and
one longer which may get a bit muddy depending on the weather.
Bicyclists: We plan on having TWO groups – one that stays in the Park, and one that
rides more miles including some along the southern trails outside of the Park
Paddlers: Canoe, kayak or paddle boards are welcome. Depending on the group the
paddle may be within Riverbend or go down the River to the first dam and back.
Equestrians: Have a guided ride around Riverbend, great for those that have never
ridden in the Park, and very social for those that ride there regularly!
Everyone will meet up at the big chickee hut on Picnic Island. We will have snacks
and drinks and information on area trails, natural areas and public lands.
** Yes – you can bring your horse to the chickee hut! We are working in partnership with
Parks and Recreation and have permission (we just need to clean up afterwards!)
